I just finished an intense workout and the whole time when I wasn’t focusing on what I was doing
I was contemplating how I would write this review. I am sitting at my computer desk, sipping on some water, looking at the Deck in front of me and processing each reading I’ve done with The Deviant Moon. I am also bringing back memories of when the deck first came out, when I contacted Patrick about his deck and how he actually replied. I am remembering the way he communicated, his energy and when receiving the deck the way it was packaged, the artwork, the way the energy emitted from it. I have to say that this is by far the only deck that I’ve felt such a personal and magical energy from. It was very distinct, very expressive and quite alluring.
I don’t really judge a deck by its card stock so you’ll not really get
much on that from me. I believe that each deck has its own energy and the cardstock adds to it. So if one deck is a little more flimsy then another I interpret that with my readings. I allow that energy to add to the cards. A little more flexibility could mean a lot when you are reading with a specific deck. So let us move on! If you want a picky card stock review then you gotta search elsewhere
The Deviant Moon Tarot is not just any deck. It’s definitely not Normal as far as decks go and it is definitely like no other. This creation should be in its own category. The artwork is absolutely stunning. I find it quite beautiful. I know that it supposedly scares a lot of people but I think more so what scares them is the energy behind the artwork than anything else. I find the way the figures interact in the cards, the colors used and the imagery as a whole to be intoxicating to say the least. When I work with this deck I have so many things to pull from. The images say so much. What I really enjoy about this deck is that it makes you feel. You can look at a picture and automatically it stirs something inside of you. It triggers something and you then start to process the information from memories of the past or feelings that arise.
I call this a No Bullshit deck! Why? Because when I read with this deck you get it straight up. No sugar coating, at all. If it says you’re a Bitch then guess what? You’re A Bitch! Don’t hate on the deck. It’s true. It will tell you exactly what’s what and won’t spare your feelings. So it is definitely not a deck for the weak. If you want to remain in denial, if you want to beat around the bush or be told to make changes in an airy fairy sort of way then this deck IS NOT for you. Now if you want to get to the core of an issue, to get direct results, no sugar coating and cut straight to the point… then this deck is absolutely for you.
The Deviant Moon is an essence in and of itself. It is a sentient being in which it interacts with the reader on many levels. It has a fluid way of communicating, more so then I’ve experienced with any other deck. This deck whispers to you and I do mean literally. This deck ignites your Inner Child and merges with your Adulthood experiences forming a real (Deviant) experience. It can make you cry because of the Truth it speaks. I have found that the Deviant Moon has left me and my clients in a very raw state but at the perfect time for it. It takes you to a place where you need confrontation as well as to that primal place where you are forced to make a decision, a decision to create change.
This is truly one of my favorite decks. I am known to pull this deck out when I know I’ll need to get straight to the matter. I also use this deck when people try and test me and my abilities; they tend to shut up quickly
You really must experience The Deviant Moon Tarot by Patrick Valenza. It’s a must in my book! So go buy it dammit and get your freak on!
